The Polar Initiative’s mission is to take a leading role in understanding and protecting polar ecosystems, generating greater awareness and impact to progress conservation actions. The Initiative was launched in 2022 through a collaboration between the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
