Emotions were running high this morning in the Cathedral of #Monaco for the funeral of the Minister of State, Didier Guillaume.
H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and President Emmanuel Macron were present to pay a final hommage to this man of conviction, whose commitment left his mark on both countries.
Monaco and France mourn the loss of a respected figure, whose legacy of dedication and dialogue will be remembered.
The former elected representative of Drôme, had been Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco since September 2024. He died on January 17, at the age of 65.
“A humanist in the Republic”, Emmanuel Macron praised Didier Guillaume. Former president of the departmental council of Drôme, former socialist senator, former minister of agriculture.
Didier Guillaume was very close to Prince Albert II who expressed his “immense sadness” and declared a day of national mourning.
The Minister was Officer of the Legion of Honor, father of two sons, he married, on December 21, 2024, Béatrice Frécenon, his former chief of staff.
