Nico Rosberg joins forces with Silverstone British GP to decarbonise racing events

Exciting news on the horizon for racing fans and environmental enthusiasts alike!  Nico Rosberg announces that he is thrilled to be joining forces with Formula 1 and Silverstone at the British F1 race to decarbonise Formula 1 racing events.

The Rosberg Philanthropies, in collaboration with The Oxford SDG Impact Lab, Formula 1, and Silverstone, will focus on reducing the carbon footprint of the Silverstone race circuit.

Oxford fellows will conduct on-site research during the race to develop sustainability recommendations, focusing on fan travel and biodiversity.

Three postgraduate students from Oxford will work on actionable research in two key areas: Fan Travel and Biodiversity. They will analyse air quality, fan travel habits, and the impact on local biodiversity to provide meaningful recommendations for sustainability.

The mission at Rosberg Philanthropies is to drive innovation and technologies for a sustainable future. Last year, the foundation launched the Rosberg Climate Fellows programme with the University of Oxford.

This year, They are elevating their efforts with Formula One. Three Oxford postgraduate students will analyze air quality, fan travel habits, and local biodiversity to offer actionable insights. This collaboration aims to create a lasting impact on the motorsports industry and set a blueprint for future sustainability initiatives.
