Monegasque National Day 2024: Drones, concerts and la Condamine market festivities

The Monegasque National Day, also known as the Sovereign Prince’s Day or ‘La Fête du Prince’ in French, is one of the most important holidays in the Principality, and traditionally takes place on November 19th.

Monaco’s National Day celebrations will include a rich programme of events running from 18 to 19 November 2024, promising fun and entertainment for all ages.

Monaco’s National Day, is rich in time-honored traditions that celebrate the country’s unity and its princely heritage.

Key traditions of National Day

Royal greetings from the Palace – On this day, it is a tradition for Prince Albert II and his family to greet people from the Palace windows.

Medal presentation ceremony – The Prince honors notable individuals with a medal presentation in the Courtyard of the Palace, recognizing their contributions to the Principality.

Military parade – Monaco’s main square comes alive with a military parade. The parade, is a centerpiece of the celebrations that draws residents and visitors alike.

Commemorative mass – In a solemn tradition, the Prince and his family, dressed in ceremonial attire, attend a Mass at the Cathedral in memory of Princess Grace.

Attendance of the Princely Family and Officials – High-ranking officials and members of the Princely Family are present at all key events, reflecting the unity of Monaco.

Highlights of the Week

Drone Spectacle (18 November)

A spectacular 800-drone show will light up Monaco’s skies at 8 pm, accompanied by music. The public can enjoy the display from a secure viewing area on Quai Albert Ier.

Unmissable Concerts

  1. Nicoletta – An acoustic concert with her Gospel choir at the Espace Léo Ferré on 18 November at 9 pm.
  2. Liane Foly – Performing her greatest hits on 19 November.

La Condamine Market Festivities (19 November)

The market will host a vibrant celebration from 9 am to 2 pm, featuring:

  • Tastings of local specialities
  • A giant stockfish lunch
  • Evening musical entertainment starting at 7:30 pm
    Additionally, an exhibition of artistic creations by senior citizens will be on display throughout the day.
