Monaco Yacht Show’s commitment to sustainability a blueprint for yachting industry

Monaco Yacht Show’s Longstanding Commitment to Sustainability in Partnership with Foundation Prince Albert II

Since 2005, the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) has championed eco-responsibility, focusing on sustainable practices in mobility, waste management, and energy usage. By collaborating with environmental organizations, MYS has become a global platform for addressing ecological challenges within the yachting community.

In 2022, MYS deepened its commitment by signing the Mission for the Energy Transition (MTE) pact, aligning with Monaco’s governmental goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Key initiatives include promoting eco-friendly mobility options, enhancing recycling efforts, and utilizing green electricity exclusively during the event.

Sustainability in Action

  • Mobility: MYS encourages videoconferencing to reduce travel and provides electric shuttles and free bus tickets for attendees.
  • Waste Management: Efforts include improved recycling systems, distributing reusable water bottles, and digitizing communication materials.
  • Energy: MYS conducts energy assessments, uses efficient air conditioning, and powers the show with green electricity.

The show supports numerous environmental causes, including the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s “Ice Memory” program and the Blue Marine Foundation’s marine conservation efforts.

In 2024, through its Sustainability Hub, MYS continues to drive eco-friendly innovation and collaboration, setting a new standard for sustainability in yachting.
