On Saturday October 7, under the initiative of the Monegasque Association for the Protection of Nature, a major clean-up was held on land and at sea at Larvotto beach, Monaco.
The Monegasque Sanitation Company accompanied this action under glorious sunshine.
On the beach with the agents in charge of maintaining the beach complex, with water scooters that collect marine waste throughout the season.
More than twelve divers from the Monaco Underwater Exploration Club spread across two boats were able to clean the seabed.
The result was worthy, more than 300 kilos of waste taken out of the water.
The SMA Waste Prevention and Recycling Officers carried out an examination and weighing at the end of this morning: 22 kilos of glass, 12 kilos of textile, 700 g of electronic and electrical waste (including 1 iPhone, electronic cigarettes), 33 kilos of various plastic, 56 kilos of metal, a beach shower weighing more than 40 kilos, 56 kilos of ropes and straps, 43 kilos of PVC, 28 kilos of wood and 26 kilos of concrete.
Thank you to the Monaco diving club for this moment of conviviality and to share a buffet under the sun.
