The Stella McCartney “Frayme Mylo” is made from mushroom leather
The Stella McCartney Frayme Mylo is the newest innovation from the ethical and sustainable British fashion brand and it introduces the world to a luxury handbag made from mushroom leather. Mycelium, the root-like structure of fungi, made this design possible and Stella McCartney worked with long-term partner Bolt Threads on the project.
Fashion fans will remember first seeing the Frayme Mylo at Paris Fashion Week in October 2021 and it includes memorable details such as an oversized recyclable aluminum chain strap and a statement medallion. Handcrafted by Italian artisans, the mushroom leather bag pays tribute to the Stella McCartney Falabella tote, the brand’s first vegan luxury bag introduced in 2009. Frayme Mylo has launched at a commercial level making sustainable alternatives even more accessible.
