GoDaddy achieves inaugural Greenhouse Gas Emissions reduction target two years early

GoDaddy renews its commitment to reducing environmental impact and operating responsibly.

Press Release TEMPE, Ariz., April 25, 2024 – GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) reports reaching its inaugural greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target two years earlier than anticipated. As of the end of 2023, GoDaddy exceeded its initial goal to reduce its scope 1 and 2 (market-based) emissions by 50% relative to its 2019 baseline, achieving an 82% reduction in just four years.

The findings were published today in GoDaddy’s 2023 Sustainability Report, showcasing how GoDaddy continues to make meaningful progress in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies.

“Our inaugural GHG emissions reduction goal was a learning opportunity for GoDaddy, and based on the outcomes, we are eager to develop new and thoughtful plans that push us even further to reduce our environmental impact,” said Abbey Foster, ESG manager at GoDaddy. “While we’re proud of our success, we know we still have more work to do.”

GoDaddy believes everyone has a critical role to play in addressing climate change.

GoDaddy’s leadership aims to operate the data centers that underpin GoDaddy’s products and services, and which are responsible for the majority of its scope 1 and 2 emissions, in a sustainable and responsible way. GoDaddy accomplishes this by streamlining and consolidating operations to reduce overall energy use, and where feasible, procuring renewable energy to cover energy usage from data center operations.
