These Gipsy Hill Beers have received carbon negative certifications
These Gipsy Hill beers have received carbon negative status without the use of carbon offsetting procedures to make them some truly sustainable libations for consumers to enjoy. The beers from the South London brewery include the Trail Ale and the Swell Lager, which are both crafted with regenerative barley sourced from Wildfarmed.
The beers also feature recaptured hops that have been removed after fermentation from a previous batch to use an ingredient that would otherwise be thrown away.
Co-Founder Sam McMeeken commented on the carbon-negative Gipsy Hill beers saying, “Our new Trail Pale and Swell Lager mean that, for the first time, our drinkers can enjoy a pint safe in the knowledge it’s actively improving the environment and helping solve our climate crisis. By truly embedding sustainability into our brewing process, rather than simply offsetting emissions, we have created a blueprint for sustainable beer range, but the wider food and drink industry.”
