2025 IASC-PA2F Fellowships for Early Career Polar Researchers

The International Arctic Science Committee and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Open Applications for the 2025 IASC-PA2F Fellowships.

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F), in collaboration with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), are pleased to announce the launch of the 2025 IASC-PA2F Fellowships. 

These fellowships, under The Polar Initiative, aim to foster scientific knowledge and capacity building among early career polar researchers.

Details

This joint Fellowship Program is developed within the framework of The Polar Initiative, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting capacity building for the next generation of polar researchers.

As part of the IASC Fellowship Program for 2025, three IASC-PA2F Fellowships will be awarded, funded by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation through its Polar Initiative.

Selected Fellows will have the opportunity to join one of the five IASC Working Groups (WGs) of their choice: Atmosphere WG (AWG), Cryosphere WG (CWG), Marine WG (MWG), Social & Human WG (SHWG), and Terrestrial WG (TWG).

The IASC-PA2F Fellowships provide early career researchers with an opportunity to engage in innovative scientific activities on a circum-Arctic and international scale. Fellows will build an international network and develop management and science diplomacy skills.

In addition to contributing to the work of their chosen IASC Working Group, Fellows will assist in organizing specific activities and support reporting to the IASC Secretariat.

Program Overview:

  • Fellowships Available: Three IASC-PA2F Fellowships
  • Working Groups: Fellows will join one of five IASC Working Groups: Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Marine, Social & Human, or Terrestrial.
  • Opportunities: Engage in innovative research, build international networks, and develop management and science diplomacy skills.

Program Duration:

  • First Year: Funded travel support for two consecutive Arctic Science Summit Weeks (ASSWs).
  • Second and Third Years: Optional continued involvement in IASC Working Groups without additional financial support.

This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to polar research at a global scale.
